Melliyal (Melli) Annamalai is a distinguished product manager at Oracle. She has more than 20 years of experience working with unstructured and semistructured data in the database, including multimedia data, data in Apache Hadoop platforms, property graphs, and RDF knowledge graphs. Her current focus areas are graph databases and analytics, and she finds ways to make it easy for developers to use graphs in any application. She enjoys working with developers as they create and deploy solutions to solve business problems so that she can better tailor product enhancements to what they need. She is a regular presenter at industry events, Oracle User Group meetings and techcasts, and Oracle Developer events. Melli has a PhD in computer science from Purdue University.
Ludovico Caldara Senior Principal Product Manager
As a product manager on the team responsible for high availability, scalability, and Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) in Oracle Database, Ludovico Caldara takes care of Oracle Data Guard, Flashback, and cloud MAA technologies. Before joining Oracle, Ludovico was a DBA, consultant, and trainer for Oracle customers and partners for more than twenty years, focusing primarily on Oracle Database and high availability architectures. Awarded with Oracle ACE Director status between 2016 and 2020, Ludovico is a respected figure in the Oracle user community.
Maria Colgan Distinguished Product Manager
Maria Colgan is a distinguished product manager on the database team at Oracle, which she has been a part of since 1996. She is what some people would call a database nerd and has spent her entire career deeply involved with enhancing the performance of databases and applications. Her personal mission is to help companies attain the flexibility and resilience they need (especially in today’s ever-changing world) by assisting them in making better use of this incredible technology. She finds great satisfaction in listening to and incorporating their feedback into future product releases.
Mike Dietrich Distinguished Product Manager
Based in Bavaria, Germany and with almost 30 years of experience in the IT industry, Mike Dietrich is currently a distinguished product manager at Oracle focused on database upgrades and migrations. He is responsible for evangelizing, influencing, and demonstrating Oracle technology solutions related to database upgrades, migrations, and consolidation to Oracle customers and partners worldwide. He also works consistently with customers in key reference projects, both onsite and remotely, and he has become a patching specialist, troubleshooting upgrade and migration issues. During his 24 years at Oracle, Mike’s held senior and management roles in both the sales and support organizations before joining the database development organization. An experienced conference speaker, he frequently delivers technical workshops between the Arctic and Antarctic. Mike holds a graduate engineer degree in telecommunication technologies and computer science from Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences. William Endress Director, Product Management
William (Bud) Endress a member of the Oracle Data Warehouse and SQL product management team, responsible for analytic views, data loading in Oracle Autonomous Database, in-memory aggregation (a feature of Oracle Database In-Memory), and the OLAP option to Oracle Database. In this role, he is a member of the management team responsible for product planning, positioning, and delivery. Previously, Bud was director of product management for Oracle Express Server and has held senior product management positions for analytic applications at Oracle. He has been a member of management teams for business intelligence applications and database technology at Oracle for more than 25 years.
Prior to joining Oracle, Bud held product management and development management positions supporting a variety of products in the software industry, including CAD-CAM applications, electronic forms processing systems, and electronic printing systems. He has degrees in marketing and business administration.
Sanjay Goil Vice President, Product Management
Sanjay Goil is vice president of product management for messaging and microservices in Oracle Database. He leads product management for advanced queuing and event queues and is responsible for evangelizing microservices for data-centric, modern application development with the converged Oracle Database. Sanjay has previously led product management for big data, AI, and machine learning at HP Autonomy, Intel, and Sun. Sanjay also led data partnerships at 4C Insights to build the affinity graph for its ad tech, self-service platform unifying social media and TV advertising. Sanjay holds an MBA from Berkeley and a PhD from Northwestern.
Marty Gubar Director, Product Management
Joining Oracle in 1995 as part of its acquisition of IRI, Marty Gubar is currently a director of product management at Oracle. He’s worked on a variety of products including business intelligence, database analytics, big data, and integrating data lake capabilities with Oracle Autonomous Database. Most recently, he’s helping people understand the value of Autonomous Database by publishing blogs, creating technical content, and more. You’ll frequently find him hiking with his highly energetic dogs or biking around national parks.
Jayson Hanes Principal Product Manager
A principal product manager, Jayson Hanes has worked at Oracle for the past four years but has been using APEX since 2007. He and the rest of the Oracle APEX product management team work closely with the APEX development team. Acting as a human interface to bridge the gap between developers and customers, Jayson communicates customer requirements and specifications back to Oracle’s core APEX development team.
Mark Hornick Senior Director, Product Management
Mark Hornick is senior director of product management for Oracle Machine Learning. Mark has more than 20 years of experience integrating and leveraging machine learning with Oracle software as well as working with internal and external customers to apply Oracle’s machine learning technologies. Mark is Oracle’s representative to the R Consortium and is an Oracle Adviser and founding member of the Analytics and Data Oracle User Community. He has been issued seven US patents. Juan Loaiza Executive Vice President, Mission-Critical Database Technologies
Juan Loaiza is the executive vice president of mission-critical database technologies at Oracle, reporting to Oracle Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison. Juan is responsible for leading product strategy, product development, and product management for the world’s leading transaction processing and engineered systems technologies—both in the public cloud and on premises.
Juan holds BS and MS degrees in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 1988, he left the MIT doctoral program to join the Oracle Database engineering team and has been an innovator in database technologies ever since.
Russ Lowenthal Senior Director, Product Management
Russ Lowenthal is the senior director of product management focusing on database security, including database encryption, access control, audit, and monitoring. Leveraging more than thirty years of experience in IT including database, UNIX systems, and network administration, Russ now advises Oracle’s customers on secure implementations of information systems technology.
Russ’ certifications include Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Oracle Certified Master (OCM), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and Certified Technical Trainer (CTT). Russ is based in Orlando, Florida and has been with Oracle for more than twenty years.
Jayant Mahto Senior Principal Product Manager
Jayant Mahto is a senior principal product manager for Oracle Database Server technologies at Oracle. He has been developing tools and applications for data warehousing and business intelligence for more than two decades. Currently, he is involved in database tools development for Oracle Autonomous Database as primary focus. He is also responsible for Oracle Data Integrator (both on premises and on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and Oracle Enterprise Metadata Management.
Jayant has been with Oracle since 2006. Before joining Oracle, he worked at Siebel Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers, HCL Technologies, and Tata Consultancy Services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Kay Malcolm Senior Director, Product Management
Kay Malcolm is a senior director of product management at Oracle. She leads a team of database product managers who develop strategy, key initiatives, infrastructure, and programs to enable our customers, to work smarter, not harder. Her team also helps customers get direct access to Oracle Database technology in combination with Oracle’s other platform and cloud solutions. Last year, Kay and her team defined and created Oracle LiveLabs , a hands-on workshop platform, after identifying a need in the Oracle ecosystem and using existing native Oracle technologies such as Oracle Application Express (APEX) and Autonomous Database running on Oracle Cloud. She is the host of an Oracle show, Lashes. Love. Tech that seeks to encourage women in technology to bring their authentic selves to the workplace. Kay began her career as a database and UNIX administrator. She has been with Oracle for 15 years, starting as a sales engineer specializing in Oracle Real Application Clusters and Exadata. At Oracle, Kay is also an active diversity ambassador and a mentor for several early career professionals and managers. Her passion is increasing the impact and visibility of diverse talent in technology and STEM careers. Kay has a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Married with two boys, Kay’s hobbies are dance (she’s a certified hip-hop instructor with a class starting back up post-Covid) and crafting.
