Page Text: AWARDS & GRANTS Supporting Global Research, Discovery & Conservation As a part of its mission to advance research into aroids, their ecosystems, and aroid horticulture, the International Aroid Society's Awards & Grants Committee works to build relationships with scientists across a broad range of specialties to connect them with the resources they need to do this research. FUNDED AWARDS & GRANTS Historically, IAS has given a variety of awards to recipients who have made significant contributions to the field, such as The Bette Waterbury Award for outstanding accomplishment in aroid horticulture and The HW Schott Award for lifetime achievement in the field of aroid research. IAS also funded projects in aroid research, when possible, through merit-based grants. Today, the Awards & Grants Committee is reshaping its process to support our mission more effectively and efficiently through standardization. In 2025, three grants were awarded, and the Committee is actively working on its 2026 grant program. Check back here for future updates on the growth and development of this committee's efforts, including additional programming, grant and award requirements, the application process, and more!
