Page Text: / a.thigpen / Leave a comment This is one of my go to recipes for breakfast on the go or just to help me stay full and get some key vitamins and nutrients into my day. Although they don’t taste quite like they do when you get them from a smoothie joint (sorry, no sugary sherbet in my house) they are a tasty drink you can customize to your own liking by switching up your fruit combinations. Plus, you can easily batch make the packs and store them in the freezer so you can dump and go for your busy mornings all week. Ingredients: 1 cup of washed spinach 1/2 of a banana, chopped 1/4 cup yogurt (I use vanilla Greek yogurt and freeze them in an ice cube container beforehand and use 2 cubes per smoothie pack) 1 cup of frozen fruit (strawberry peach is my favorite combo right now) 1 and 1/2 cups of milk (possibly more if you want a really smooth texture) sugar free syrups for more flavor (if desired) sandwich sized zip lock bags Directions In your bag, layer the spinach, banana, yogurt cubes and frozen fruit. Squeeze out as much air as possible and seal well. Place in your freezer until you’re ready to use. Pour milk into blender then add contents from your smoothie pack. Blend until smooth then serve.
