Page Text: Register Now Overview Rockface is Perth’s biggest and safest climbing venue, with the gym reaching 9m at its highest point. 26 top-rope climbs, an advanced bouldering wall (4.2m high) and a little kids’ bouldering wall are waiting for you at our new Balcatta location! You may have heard of us before – we were once in Northbridge – pioneering much of Perth’s early love for climbing tall walls. We took a break (to relocate) and now we’re back, in Balcatta, bigger and better than ever with more climbs in our brand-new facility. Our Facilities We are very proud of the fact we are one of the few gyms in Perth to have built everything locally; our climbing walls were designed, engineered & built by Perth businesses using Australian ply & Australian steel in our construction. Consisting of a separate bouldering area, soon-to-be-finished lead climbing wall, and a wide range of vertical top-rope walls, slabs, and overhangs; the facility also houses a ProShop, a sitting area, and men’s and women’s change rooms with hot showers. Cold drinks and snack foods are available for purchase all day, and yes, you can byo food for corporate team building or other social events. Come in for a climb. Your entry fee covers you for an entire day; there is no time limit. Memberships are also available. Bookings are not necessary if there are just a few of you; although we do ask that you book for groups of 6 or more: rockface@rockface.com.au The Gym Route difficulty ranges from very easy (suitable for children’s birthday parties) to very hard (suitable for experienced climbers out for a challenge). To keep our climbers interested year-round, we employ creative route-setters, so the climbs are always changing. We cycle through changing routes a few routes every week, meaning there’s always something new to try, but also meaning favourites you’ve been working aren’t taken down before you’ve had a chance to send them. Among the challenging climbs and exciting new routes, there are many easy climbs set specifically for the beginner. We cater to all levels of fitness and encourage you to take on the more difficult routes after some practice. Experienced lead climbers will soon have access to our new lead wall, with routes up to 9m, a wide range of grades and styles. Many of our climbers enjoy bouldering, and if you don’t have a climbing partner, you might want to give it a try. Rockface has a large dedicated bouldering wall, where you can try your hand (and feet!) on various overhangs. Photo Gallery
