Page Text: Experienced Climbers PERSUE YOUR PASSION Whether you’re a top-roper or a dedicated boulderer, you’ll find plenty to challenge you at Rockface. We offer a variety of routes across 26 top-ropes, on varied terrain; corners, slabs, overhangs and faces. You’ll also find loads of bouldering problems across our 4.2m high bouldering wall. We put up new routes and re-set boulder problems regularly. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What grading system do you use? We use the Australian (Ewbank) grading system for our top rope and lead routes. Our roped grades range from around 6 to 26 on top rope. For our bouldering, we use an in-house grading system. It’s similar to V grades, but a little softer. All routes and boulder problems are set with a single colour – no tape to follow! What do I need to do to lead climb at Rockface? We are still developing our new lead walls, so for the time being, we are not offering lead climbing. Can I come in and train strength and power? You can and you should. We offer a warm-up area with foam rollers, spiky balls and resistance bands; a weights area; and a campus board. NEW CLIMBER AT OUR CENTRE? Our Registration Form is required if this is your first time climbing at our centre. To get you on the walls faster, please register online prior to attending your session. The registration is also available at the front counter on our iPads.
