Acupuncture
Acupuncture was one of the first healing methods developed in the world. This ancient healing method is still used today because of how beneficial it is to the patient. The process involves the gentle insertion of sterile needles into specific points of the patient’s body. Only an acupuncturist is knowledgeable enough to know where these points are.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Often referred to as TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicine comes from a philosophical model of healing. This model has been developed by TCM practitioners over thousands of years.
The model dictates that the human body has a recurring energy system where energy flows through pathways known as meridians. Each one of these pathways connects a certain physiological system to a particular internal organ.
The energy that exists within the organ is known as “Qi.” This energy can become yin, yang, obstructed, excessive, or deficient. Acupuncture may bring the body’s Qi back into balance.
