Page Title: Color — Brand Guidelines

  • This webpage makes use of the TITLE meta tag - this is good for search engine optimization.

Page Description: Web: Use of white and grey text accenting dark backgrounds. For light grey backgrounds, use of dark greys, light greys, and white accents. On white backgrounds we use the entire range of dark greys, light greys, and minimal reds. Occasionally for a button style that needs more gravity, we use blue (#2474c7).   Mobile / Tablet: Mobile generally leads with a red header, areas with dark greys, with accents of white, as well as large white areas with accents of red and dark grey. The header gets replaced when playing with large imagery in the background, accented by white text and icons.    Home Entertainment: Use of white text and icons with an occasional 90% transparency. No Red used. Text and Icons always appear on a black background with an image at low opacity ontop of black.  "“Home entertainment uses accents of white in its icons and text, delicately in contrast with large engaging album art.”   Auto: Has two different usages of color depending on the time of day. In the bright daylight, users will see lots of red and white with dark grey accents to increase readability in the sun. At night, the colors tend to use more dark grey coloring with small accents of red and white in the text and icons. Unique to Auto, there also exists a smartphone app, also called Solid User Interface (SUI) that can be used to control wirelessly the built in dashboard interface of the car.

Otherwise it is used sparingly for highlights and calls to action. Light grays are used for supporting text, dividers, and secondary buttons. Dark grays are used for primary text and selected states. Our blue is used for buttons, modals and coach marks. Home Entertainment iHeartRadio for Home is designed to be on a dark background. We use black, white and gray for type and UI elements. Whites or device specific shadows are used for highlight states. Transparent blacks are used on top of photography. Use accents of white in its icons and text, delicately in contrast to engaging album art. Web The iHeartRadio red is used sparingly on Web. Transparent blacks with white type are used as alternatives to black on white. Light grays are used for dividers and sub-navigation to separate content. Occasionally for a button style that needs more gravity, we use blue (#2474c7). Auto Like mobile, Auto uses the red header when possible. It can have two different usages of color depending on the time of day. At night, the colors tend to use a darker palette, like Home Entertainment. This is to not distract from driving. Unique to Auto, there also exists a smartphone app, called Solid User Interface (SUI) that can be used to control wirelessly the built in dashboard interface of the car.
