Page Text: Office of Research and Economic Development Jan ORED Year End Report 2021 (PDF ) Research Updates The Office of Research and Economic Development will continue to provide services related to sponsored programs and research compliance to faculty, staff, and students. To support research endeavors, Research laboratories will remain open; Animal research facilities, including vivarium, will remain open; and Human subject research and animal research will continue with safety measures (e.g., vaccine and mask requirements, social distancing as appropriate) recommended by CDC Business Hours The Office of Research and Economic Development is Open. Our staff is currently telecommuting and our primary method of communication is via email. Please feel free to contact us and we will be sure to respond to your email as soon as possible. Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Policy Update Cayuse along with Pre-Award policies and guidelines (where applicable) have been updated to include a verification process to confirm that PI’s and/or key personnel have not been suspended or debarred by the federal government from engaging with or working on Federal awards.  This verification process will take place during the internal clearance process, prior to submission of any proposal and prior to award acceptance for funded proposals. Cayuse now includes a Certification statement, indicating that the PI certifies that Co-PI’s and other Key Personnel are not currently debarred, suspended or ineligible to receive federal funds or participate in federally funded grants or contracts. If you are not sure what this certification means or requires, please contact your assigned Pre-Award Specialist for more information. Additionally, at the time of award acceptance, ORED will conduct a sam.gov check to verify that PI’s and key personnel are not debarred or suspended. Federal Regulations Requirements: Contractors must certify they are neither nor its principals or its subcontractors are presently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment, declared ineligible or voluntarily excluded from participation in transactions by any federal department or agency (2 Code Federal Regulations[CFR] 180.220, in accordance with the Office of Management and Budget guidelines at 2 CFR 180 that implement Executive Orders 12549 (3 CFR Part 1986 Comp., p. 189) and 12689 (3 CFR Part 1989 Comp., p. 235).
