Tiernan ‘Tenny’ Rory Quinlan, MD, PhD.
A native of Ireland, the son of a prominent surgeon, Tiernan went into medicine at his father’s insistence. He moved to the US shortly after his graduation and established a practice in the Pacific Northwest for about 20 years. During that time, he continued his education, pursuing a PhD in Astrophysics, which has always been his passion. While he enjoyed being a doctor for the small town he worked in, he has always felt the Call of D’ni. He had been able to visit during the DRC restoration but unable to stay due to his studies, practice and the illness and later death of his father, which sent him back to Ireland for a few years.
Once he was able to retire, he has been able to use his inheritance to relocate to the Cavern. He is an independent astrophysicist, and continues to work in that field remotely from his new home here. He has decided to create a Clinic for the Explorers In-Cavern as well as pursue his astrophysics work. Due to that, he maintains a small office with several computers and a satellite internet connection so he can monitor the different telescopes he works with.
He is currently setting up the Clinic: “Sanctuary Clinic” in his neighborhood area.
