It is a city that is full of adventure that can take a lifetime to explore. I don’t know something about it seduces you to want to do unusual things of which am not going to talk about(sorry). There are a lot of activities which you can do it is a must you do them once you visit this magnificent city. Am talking about the seamless landmarks and don’t remind me about the coffee at Piazza del Popolo, that coffee is divine. There are thousands of things which you can do because well for a city which has been around for more than 2000 years it has a lot to offer. Okay am not going to convince you to visit every place but I got five legit places that you should visit. Therefore if you are thinking of visiting the site any time soon definitely continue reading this article. Here are amazing things that you should not miss when you are in Rome. 1. The Colosseum. The Colosseum is best known for its long history with gladiator wars. A lot of Hollywood movies which are gladiator oriented have for years tried to incorporate the Colosseum in their films Have you ever watched Gladiator it arguably the best gladiator movie in the world. If you have not watched them, you need to try them out. Honestly even before you set foot in the Colosseum, they might give you a feel of what I am talking about. Let me empower you with a bit of history of the Colosseum. It dates back to 72AD. The place was filled with 100 days of games. Honestly, some of these games were bloody messy. The Colosseum was the largest theatre in the Roman Empire because it is believed to house 50,000 people. Although the place was left in ruins by the Romans of those good old days. However, until today the Colosseum still stands. Once you visit, the place you will immediately spot it. It is the stadium which looks half done that’s a hint that can help you out. The Colosseum is such a famous place that over 4 million tourists visit the site annually. 2.The Ancient Ruins. The Roman forum is an archaeological site that you red to visit. One thing that you have to appreciate about Rome is how the city has blended both history and modernity. The old architecture still stands firm in the midst of modern buildings. The Roman Forum gives you a feel of what the Romans used to do in their day to day Lives. It dates back to 500BC before the one, and only Julius Ceaser enlarged it. If you are walking on your lucky star then you might have a chance of seeing the Remnants of Imperial Rome which extend beyond the forum. Fun Fact: Once you visit the Roman Forum you have to see the Bocca della Verità, which is a bearded stone man. According to legend, the stone will bite off the hand of any individual who does not tell the truth. So, please keep your white lies at home. 3. The Pantheon. Okay, one thing that you need to know about the Pantheon is that it is an architectural marvel. If you were an attentive student in your History class, then you might have had of Emperor Hadrian who built it between 118 and 128AD. There are quite some interesting facts that you need to know about the Pantheons. 1. The name Pantheon refers to a temple of all the gods of Rome. However, it was built on top of another temple, and it was used as a burial place of the Kings. For instance, King Raphael was buried in the Pantheon. 2. Before the dawn of the modern era, the Pantheon was considered as the perfect architectural site. You know that if something is accurate, then it has to be impeccable. 3. Unlike the Colosseum, the Pantheons is the best-preserved monument in Rome. One thing you will love about the Pantheon is the way the sunlight hits you when you walk in. The rooftop is open to let the sunrays beat you as you enjoy this marvelous site. 4. The Vatican. The Vatican City is the place to be if you are going to visit Rome. If you are going to visit St Peters Basilica which is a must by the way then you need to take a tour at The Vatican’s Museums. You might be asking yourself why do you need to visit the Vatican. Have you always wanted to meet the Pope then this is your grand chance to meet him. If you did not know the Vatican has been the primary residence of Popes since 1378. You will also get a chance of visiting St Peters square which was designed with 284 columns and 88 pillars to symbolize Christianity. Once you visit the Vatican, please visit the Ponte Sant’Angelo where you will get to see the carved angels. Trust me they will be a marvel for your eyes. 5. Sunset. I know you will tell me that where you are you can see the sunset great or the Hawaiian sunset is one the best in the world. There are a lot of parks and bridges in Rome. However, the best place to view the evening sun is at St Peter’s Basilica. You will surely love how the dome lights up when the sun rays hit the cathedral.
