New Members - Distance Studies If you are unable to attend the Foundation Studies Course, you can join the Center at the time of registering for the distance studies course . Bequests What is a Bequest? A Bequest to the Center is a statement made in your Will directing that a gift be made to the Center upon your death. The gift could be, for example, a specific amount of money, a specific account or portion thereof, or a residual portion of your estate after other distributions have been made. This method of giving to the Center allows you to retain full control and use of your assets during your lifetime, and gives you the satisfaction of knowing that after your death your assets will be used to benefit others by supporting the mission of the Center. Large or small, your bequest can make a difference. Also, your gift to CSS qualifies as a charitable deduction for estate tax purposes. CSS Bequest Acceptance Policy. To ensure that CSS will be able to accept your bequest, please do not restrict the use of your bequest to particular purposes or include in your bequest assets that may be difficult to administer or unsuitable for serving the CSS mission. Restricted gifts with specific limitations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Only those bequests which are in conformity with the needs of the Center for Sacred Sciences will be accepted. The Center for Sacred Sciences reserves the right to refuse any gift which is judged to be inconsistent with the Center's needs or for which the Center's resources are too limited to properly administer. Official acceptance of all bequests will be made by the CSS board of directors. How to Make Your Bequest. It is recommended that you consult with an attorney regarding the preparation of your Will. Preparing your own basic Will is quite simple and affordable using various online Will writing services.
