We were renovating our apartment for rental. Ours is a very old art-deco building with many difficult old building problems. We've had discussions with multiple builders, some of them did not even want the job due to these difficulties. We engaged Focus Building & Renovations because we felt that JP is reliable, friendly and professional, and not afraid of these old building challenges. We had some general ideas of what we wanted but did not know what to do. On top of that we were both very busy with our own jobs and simply did not have time to be involved in the detailed management. JP took over the project from day 1. He listened to our needs and offered plenty of ideas and suggestions that's practical, fit the reality of the building, and also nice in design. He picked only quality material/supplies, gave us daily updates on the progress and really took pride in his work. Two months into the project Covid hit and lockdown started. JP and his team carried on notwithstanding the many enormous obstacles and challenges in place. It was a trying time for everyone during lockdown and the many restrictions in place has caused delay to our project too. But JP really went out of his way to keep the progress going and keep us updated. In the end we got there, the project was finished, and we had a nice and beautiful apartment that is modern and cosy to live in, while still keeping its original art-deco elegance and simplicity. JP handed the keys back to us on Friday. We opened for inspection on Saturday, and got a tenant signed up on Monday. A year has since passed and everything in the apartment is going strong and well, and the tenant is happy. We couldn't expect more than this and would definitely recommend Focus Buildings & Renovations to anyone we know.
