Page Text: BACK Moscow streets might have changed their names from the Soviet ones and have thrown away all the red flags along them. But even today there are plenty of Soviet symbols and other remainders of the bygone era all over the city. With Soviet nostalgia in the country on the rise, and with so much Russia on the news lately for all the wrong political reasons, it's never been more important to learn more about Russia's communist past and try to figure how or if it connects to the present and helps shaping the unique Russian perspective of looking at things. On this tour we are going to explore central Moscow streets and see the most vivid examples of remaining Soviet symbols and statues, as well as many buildings with deep Soviet history behind them. It's simple. I pick you at your hotel or any other convenient spot, we go to the tour's starting point (by metro if needed), do the tour, and then I drop you at any place you want or bring back to the hotel. It's a 2-2,5-hour walking tour without stops or brakes that starts next to Lubyanka metro station and ends next Pushkinskaya. There's reasonable amount of walking involved with this one. We're not going inside buildings except for the amazing grocery store at the end of the tour. How Do We Do It? What Do We See?
