Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is one of the world's most famous cathedrals, which serves as biggest cathedral of Russia today. This is where the most important services for the Russian religious community throughout the year take place, many run by the head of the church, the Patriarch, himself.
With religion, once again, starting to play bigger and bigger role in the daily routine of Russian people, it's important for you as a tourist to try to learn more about this facet of the country's life.
The most incredible part of the tour is the story behind Christ the Saviour Cathedral itself, which is the most tragic yet fascinating construction story of any building in Moscow showing us how radically the relationships between Russian people and the church changed over time.
