Have you tried joining our Houseplant Addicts Network and were denied? Or are you still waiting for your membership to be approved?

Why is my membership being denied?
You must have a profile picture.
You must use your real name. We’ve had people try to join with names like “Doofus Maximus,” business names, etc.
You must answer all questions and *agree* to our rules of the group. If you haven’t answered every question, you will be denied. Please resubmit your membership!
Your profile is less than 2 years old.***
If you’d like to join and believe you were denied in error, please reach out to us ! ***Tell us a bit about yourself and your favorite plants ! We have our rules to make sure we don’t have spammers/bots joining our groups.
Why are my posts not being approved? Why was my comment deleted?
Reason 1: Please be patient
Our groups move very quickly. Not only do we try to pace the amount of posts we approve, we also approve when we can. Meaning, we do not live online. We approve as we are available. We are also busy monitoring current posts!
Note: We are looking for moderator help .
We are very aware we are behind on approving pending posts. We’ve been trying to recruit moderators to join our awesome team with very little success! Why not join our moderator team? You’ve seen how long posts can take to get approved. We are human and do not require our moderator team to live online.
Reason 2: Hashtags
Your post or comment contains hashtags. We consider hashtags to be links .
Some hashtags (unfortunately) lead to inappropriate/non-family-friendly places. Just remove hashtags and resubmit!
Reason 3: Shared from an outside source
Unfortunately we do not approve shared posts from outside sources. This includes another group, fan page, websites, etc.
Reason 4: Links
Your post or comment contains a link. We do not approve posts with links. Remove the link and resubmit and we will be happy to approve.
Additionally, we do not approve posts that will lead to members commenting with links. For example: If your posts asks, “Where are the best places to get a humidifier”
We also do not approve posts with pictures or screenshots with links.
Reason 5: Bad language
Updated September 2020: If your post or comment contains cussing/bad language towards another member/people, etc., it was most likely denied or deleted. Please resubmit and we will be happy to approve.
Cussing/bad language towards plants or expressing your anger towards a situation (not a person) is allowed!
Reason 6: Social Media
Your post or comment mentions your social media. We have a weekly Instagram thread that is posted every Monday! Check our announcements for the current thread.
Reason 7: Tagging a Group or Page
Your post or comment contains a tag. You tagged a group or page.
Reason 8: Selling/Promoting
We do not allow selling/promotions of businesses, social media, products, services, etc. Unless you want to sponsor and/or share profits with the admins/moderators, there is no selling/profiting/promoting.
