What our students say
My favourite module is Personality and Individual Differences. It’s an early lecture but I would never miss it because I always leave the lecture hall feeling happy. The depth that we go into and the discussions I’ve had with some of my lecturers have been so fascinating.
The Psychology group is incredibly close. I remember a point where I’d been struggling with statistics and a whole group pitched in to help. On results day I got the mark I wanted and had messages coming in from fellow students. That support made me fall in love with Exeter.
The campus is beautiful and I love the small things that the university does. During exam season, the Students’ Guild set up special activities to help you de-stress, and my favourite was ‘Meet the Guide Dogs’. We donated some money and then got to spend time in a room full of dogs!
Alexandra, BSc Psychology
The thing I enjoy most about the programme is that I’m in control of my own education. With a range of resources open to me and engaging lecturers, I can strike the balance of independent study and being taught. I have also really appreciated the chance to choose some modules outside of Psychology, to give myself the choice of what I wish to study.
One of the main reasons I chose the University of Exeter was the course: not only is it an undergraduate Masters degree, but it also incorporates work placements and allows me to get professional accreditation as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. While there are a few other universities that offer similar courses, none, in my opinion, were as welcoming or friendly as Exeter.
I think that my biggest highlight so far would have to be the hands-on experience in practical classes. One, in particular, that stands out was looking at MRI scans and identifying areas of the brain, which was both fascinating and rewarding.
