Page Text: Join The Essence of Italy About Me I first knew I wanted to be an artist when I was in 8th grade. I was blessed to have a compassionate art teacher that invested in me and greatly encouraged me along the way. Growing up in a military family, I traveled around the world and was exposed to many cultures. My parents took me to many museums (my favorite, being the Impressionists). As I look back, I am so thankful for all of those experiences as they greatly influenced my direction as an artist. I feel so fulfilled when I am able to share my passion for painting with exciting colors. It serves as my biggest inspiration for the Essence of Italy. I would love to be able to share my passion with you. Join The Essence of Italy My Approach I enjoy painting a variety of subjects, but most importantly expressing them with exciting colors, lighting, and emotion. My Process I paint using the ‘Alla Prima’ method of painting (working wet into wet, usually in one sitting). Credits I am eternally thankful to God for allowing me to do what I am most compelled to do: express myself through my painting. Words from current students “I have had a really positive experience and learning so much. It’s definitely a challenge. I’m excited to paint and learn about perspective in our paintings. I actually taught perspective drawing but haven’t used it in many years. Love the colors we mix. Really vibrant. Thank you so much. I think you are a great teacher and a good artist.” Maggie P. “I find that your explanations of colors and how they work together in the painting is excellent.  The graphs help keep perspective(s) correct.  I’m glad that I can work whenever I have time and can return to the lessons to use something I’ve learned in one lesson to apply it to a new painting.  I think the most important part of taking lessons from you is that I’ve been able to incorporate what I’ve learned into other paintings.  By doing that, I believe that my skills have improved and have given me more of my own style. Thanks to your teaching, Chris, my paintings have a new depth.” Linda H. “You are a blessing in my life . . . Your encouragement and willingness to share your gifts are what make you stand out as an artist who loves her skills and loves to teach others. Thank you so very very much. Love you dearly and thank My God for you in my life.” Ruth W. Frequently Asked Questions Will I Have Enough Time? This course is designed to be digested at your own pace.
