AMAs
An AMA ("Ask Me Anything") happens when someone with a unique perspective comes to Reddit, introduces themselves in a text-based post, then tells stories and answers the most popular questions submitted by the greater Reddit community.

Leah Remini
To promote her A&E show Scientology and the Aftermath, Leah Remini hosted an AMA to share her insights and experience with the Church. The topic prompted endless questions about Church secrets and the lives of former Scientologists, making it one of the most popular AMAs in Reddit history.
Given the overwhelming interest, A&E hosted three special AMA-themed episodes to fully address the Redditor’s curiosity and detailed questions.
Jane Goodall
Dr. Jane Goodall’s AMA delighted every Redditor who’s ever dreamed of being an explorer. She imparted decades of knowledge from studying chimpanzees, animal intelligence and conservation.
Dr. Goodall shared stories from her illustrious career, especially her wisdom and optimism about the future of our planet. More than a few Redditors effusively expressed their admiration for her work since childhood and their own children who want to follow in her footsteps.
The Wall Street Journal, Jonathan Cheng
Jonathan Cheng is the Seoul Bureau Chief of The Wall Street Journal. Recently returning from a trip to North Korea with a WSJ delegation, Jonathan fielded questions about the uniquely opaque country that often dominates the news cycle .
Jonathan’s expert insight and personal experience provided readers with context beyond the published story, and he also managed to answer the universal question of: “chocolate or vanilla ice cream?”
Redman
Hip-hop and scary movie fans were thrilled when Redman came to discuss his new VH1 series, “Scared Famous.” He hung out with fans who were curious about his new show, his favorite artists and his experience of fans’ most memorable Redman film and music moments.
In true Reddit fashion, Redman answered a range of questions about his hobbies, favorite movie villains, and his thoughts on the Blue Man Group.
Team USA, Aja Evans
Bobsledder Aja Evans joined Reddit as part of the Team USA AMA series leading up to the 2018 Winter Olympics. Redditors were curious about her training schedule and lifestyle as an elite athlete, with several admitting their secret dream to be a bobsledder.
The AMA wouldn’t have been complete without a few Cool Runnings questions and a peek into Aja’s favorite things from Chicago restaurants to Shark Week.
John Cleese
John Cleese is an acting legend and tall person. He dropped by Reddit to chat about his live Monty Python and the Holy Grail tour. Jokes posed as questions kicked off the AMA, and he did not disappoint. From pedal bins to quantum physics, his AMA cemented his status, already known to many Redditors, as “the master.”

He decided to turn the tables on Reddit users and ask THEM anything about some of the best places in the Bay! “Hey wassup Warriors fans its KD. New to the area, still tryin to get my feet wet and want to know what places in The Bay I should check out. Im new to Reddit, lurked here and there, so yall think you can help me out for a bit?” Durant received hundreds of suggestions and then he acted on them! Thanking users and uploading pictures to his original thread - it was a proper introduction to the Reddit community.
Watch What Happens Live / Bravo
This “AMA IRL” partnership marked the kickoff of Bravo’s week of live social programming. Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen asked actress Gabourey Sidibe and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak-Biermann redditors’ questions live on air. In the days leading up to the episode, users posted their questions on Reddit, then tuned in to Bravo’s live stream last night to see if their question would get answered. Cohen, viewing the original thread on his tablet, asked users’ questions about everything from go-to karaoke songs and the most iconic Housewife moments to what Billy Eichner smells like.
