LUBBOCK, TX – No. 20 Texas Tech ended a 2-0 start to play at Rawls Course on Sunday after the Red Raiders beat Oklahoma, 3-2, to start the tournament and then followed with a dominating 4- 1 of No. 3 State of Oklahoma.
With the two wins, the Red Raiders will head into Monday’s final game against Tulsa with a clear chance to not only defend their home turf, but also secure their third straight tournament title. Tulsa enters the Finals with a similar undefeated record after the Golden Hurricane upset Oklahoma State in the morning and then held off Oklahoma, 3-2, later in the afternoon.
“I was proud of our team for the way we competed in the lineup and found a way to win,” the head coach said.

won both of its games to lead the Red Raiders on Sunday as Dong was 6-up over Oklahoma’s Maria Fernanda Martinez in the morning before finishing Oklahoma State’s Maddison Hinson-Tolchard 3-up on the 16th hole more late in the day. Its victory over Oklahoma State sealed victory over the highly ranked Cowgirls.
Loewe, meanwhile, secured Texas Tech’s win over Oklahoma earlier in the day as the rookie rallied from a holeshot to tie their game against Libby Winans in the 13th before taking the lead with a par in the par. 17th. She landed a tight putt in the 18th after Winans sent her approach shot long for a tough birdie putt that lasted long.
Gala Dumez
provided the Red Raiders’ other win over Oklahoma by beating Meagan Winans, 5-3, after recovering from a slow start. Dumez, who fell to Han-Hsuan Yu, 2-and-1, later in the day, won each of his decisive five holes between the 7th and 15th to tie the game at 2-2, leaving Loewe the victory . .

locked up Texas Tech’s other two wins over Oklahoma State as Horder secured her game in 17th to finish 3-up Lianna Bailey. Taylor, meanwhile, barely made it to the back nine before defeating Angelica Pfefferkorn, 7 and 6, on the 12th hole only.
Each of Monday’s final two games will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Texas Tech and Tulsa coming off the No. 1 tee, while Oklahoma State and Oklahoma will start from the No. 10 box. Live scoring will be available throughout the round on Golfstat.com.
