An “Australian” Space Agency?
An allocation of $1.16 billion in the federal budget for Australia's recently established national Space Agency has carried all the hallmarks of a seemingly localised affair. Nothing, however, could be further from the truth. Reliable information readily available elsewhere, has revealed the ASA will operate in conjunction with NASA, their US counterpart together with other US-led military organisations; Australia is strategically-placed to host further sensitive facilities, including global positioning systems. ...

Aged Care Workers’ Struggle Intensifies
Aged care workers are preparing for protected industrial action against major aged care providers. They have been in negotiations with major providers such as Southern Cross and Anglicare (so -called not for profit providers) and for-profit providers such as Allity and Bupa.

US gets it military priorities funded through Federal Budget
The whole defence section of the recent Australian federal budget contained few surprises: the Morrison Coalition government remains hell-bent on following US-led regional military planning and all which that position entails. One part of the defence section, for example, revealed just how close Australia has been drawn to US-led war-mongering. Another, likewise, revealed the level of Cold War regional planning pushed by the Pentagon, with far-reaching implications for Australia.

A canary sings with Probuild, CIMIC, Deloitte and Chevron
The day after the ABC reported a humanitarian crisis facing former employees and subcontractors of Australian-based construction company CIMIC in the Middle East, Spirit of Eureka commented, “Probuild collapses and now CIMIC is exposed for leaving hundreds of ex-workers unpaid in Dubai labour camps for a year. They can’t leave and can’t afford to eat. And CIMIC’s share price didn’t drop the day after journalist Adele Ferguson released the story. ...
