Page Text: Keeping you safe when you visit Last updated:25 February 2022 Keeping you safe when you visit We’re delighted to be able to welcome you back to our reading room. Visits are by appointment only and at present we can only have three researchers in the reading room on any one day, to ensure that we are all following social distancing guidelines and enhanced cleaning procedures.  (We may also need to limit the amount of material requested on any one day). To enquire about booking a place, please email info @ wcml.org.uk .  We’re open Tuesdays to Fridays 10am to 4pm at present.  In order to offer places to as many people as possible we are trialling a system where no one reader can book a place for more than two days in any fortnight period. Please contact us for information about how groups can visit together to study here by booking space in our meeting room on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As of 22 October 2021 we have also been welcoming back drop-in visitors who wish to browse our ground floor displays on Friday afternoons between 1 and 4.30pm. Sorry but we currently do not have the capacity to welcome back drop-in visitors at other times, or to organise tours. However we’re continually developing ways you can  engage with us remotely , including online exhibitions, podcasts and blog posts. Please keep an eye on our Web site, sign up for our free ebulletin or follow us on social media for the latest updates. Keeping you safe when you visit our reading room We’ll ask you to request the material that you’d like to consult in advance of your visit. We are happy to help you to identify relevant material as part of the booking process. On the day of your visit: There are plenty of public transport options for arriving by bus or train.  If you are arriving by car we can supply a parking permit for use on the rough ground behind the library – let us know in advance if you need one. We’ll ask you to use the hand sanitiser dispenser which is on your left directly as you come through the front door, and encourage you to wash your hands regularly while in the library. We want to do everything we can to protect our staff, visitors, and the wider community.  For this reason we are still asking people to wear a face covering while in the library. Please bring one and be prepared to wear it - if this would present you with a problem, we’d be grateful if you’d let us know in advance.  We are also still asking visitors to be mindful of social distancing – thanks for your understanding. We are not able to offer refreshments, or space for you to consume your own food and drink on site, so if you are going to be with us for a full day we suggest you plan alternative arrangements – there are cafés etc open in the vicinity. Bring a credit or debit card if you think you might want to purchase items from our bookshop, as we can only undertake cashless transactions at present. If you find you are not going to be able to come after all, please let us know as we may be able to offer your place in the Reading Room to someone else. Please do not come to the Library if you feel unwell on the day. WCML, October 2021 (updated February 2022) Also in this section
