Page Text: Finding WCML By Train There are plenty of trains which stop at Salford Crescent coming from Manchester Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Deansgate, as well as from Manchester Victoria and Salford Central. Turn left onto the main road at the top of the steps at the station, walk to the pedestrian crossing and the Library is the building straight opposite as you cross the main road at that point. By Bus From the direction of Manchester centre, the WCML is fifty yards beyond the Salford University bus stop - buses arrive regularly from: Piccadilly Gardens (34, 36, 37, 38, X34) Shudehill (8, 67, 100) Oxford Road/Princess Street (V1, V2). Bus 50 comes from The Lowry/MediaCity (and from Albert Square in Manchester). Jubilee House is distinctive with its black and white gable ends. By Car/Bike From the direction of Manchester centre, the WCML is situated on the A6, after Salford Cathedral and opposite Salford University, Museum and Art Gallery. After Irwell Place and Albion Place on your left (opposite the University) take the left that is signposted for Salford Crescent railway station. You will need to get into the bus lane for this. Take your first left off this road (Christchurch Avenue) and then first left again signed as Aldred Street. This will bring you to the back of the building where there is car parking. You need a permit to park there - call in and get one from us when you get here, it's free but we'll need to ask you for a £5 returnable deposit. If you have difficulty walking and would like to be nearer the building, please call us when you are here and we will open the gates to let your car into the back yard. From outside of Salford and Manchester, the M602 runs from the M6 right into Salford. Turn left at the end of the motorway and follow the road up to a T-junction with the A6. Turn right here then immediately left (signposted University and Salford Crescent railway station). Turn sharp left at the bottom of the road, passing back under the A6. Take the first turning right and then first left. This puts you by the car park at the back of the Library (see above). Map
