Sourcing fresh from American grown flowers and foliage farms year-round, 365 days a year, is the foundation of my wedding & event business. I’ve always focused on teaching others where flowers come from and why it matters through a multi-sensory experience - whether you are my clients, my peers, floral enthusiasts or everyday consumers.
My mission through both my business platforms, Petals by the Shore and The Floral Source, is to connect floral designers and event designers with unique and beautiful flowers and foliage from American growers. We’ve experienced the effects of the current crisis with the disruption to the supply chain and the near loss of many of these family farms. The farms are not in the clear. There is still much uncertainty and a significant decrease in demand. Their fields are blooming, so help me support these farms and keep the flowers moving!
Having this opportunity to support these farms through your purchase will create better awareness of what grows here at home and also provide the education of the importance of sourcing domestically so that these farms can continue to grow for generations to come. 80% of the flowers bought and sold in the U.S. pre-covid were imports, having grown in other countries.
