Welcome to the Wild Gentleman
The Wild Gentleman is a website dedicated to all things wild food and drink-related. I started writing about wild food on the internet back in 2004 and my philosophy hasn’t changed much since then. Back then I wanted to help promote wild food, as the wild and abundant resource it is.
Therefore, I offer you some of my knowledge here on these pages without the distraction of pop-ups, adverts, or links to courses, heck you won’t even find a link to a social media account. Instead, this is home to the wild writings of myself, author and gentleman, Andy Hamilton . I offer you my writing in the hope that it will help inspire you; the budding forager to get out to a woodland, wild place, or pubic park and to get picking wild food.
Who is the Wild Gentleman?
The Wild Gentleman is me – Andy Hamiton. An author and forager. I have authored books for the UK and American audiences and I have been sold and translated across the globe. I’m very thankful for this so I reflect it in my writing, penning articles with as wide an audience as possible. Not only that I like to focus on plants that can be found in abundance so that they are familiar to many. However, I am Bristol based and so do expect to find a UK-centric bias.
