Ward’s debut album ‘Heartland’ (2019) defied expectations to secure the ARIA #1 Australian Country album spot and a host of other accolades. Recorded with multi ARIA and CMAA award winner Matt Fell, Rhythms Magazine described Heartland as "world class” and “testament to his ability to blend popular and alt. country elements in convincingly heartfelt songs”. Ward recently showcased for Sounds Australia at Nashville’s Americanafest, is a regular at Tamworth Country Music Festival and recently was announced in the first line-up of artists for one of the biggest festivals in Australia, Groundwater Country Music Festival.

Following an extensive 21 date pre-album release tour amidst the challenges of a global pandemic, Ward has just released his highly anticipated second album, "If I Was In Dallas Tonight” (2021) also reaching #1 on the ARIA charts for an Australian country album.
Recorded at Yellow Dog Studios (Wimberley, Texas) and the title track with Matt Fell at Love Hz Sydney, Ward now joins a host of hot new American country artists coming out of yellowDOG including Charley Crockett, Colter Wall and Mike & The Moonpies.

Produced by David Percefull and mastered by Adam Odor, Matt has followed up the success of Heartland with a run of new singles including ‘Tattoos, Trucks & Country Music’; ’Old Ground’, (with Bonnie Montgomery - 2016 Ameripolitan Outlaw Female and 2018-2020 Arkansas Americana Artist of the Year) and 'Lost and Found', which charted in the Top 50 for Australian Country songs for four weeks.
Off the back of his debut success, the quality and diversity of Ward’s new work stamps him as a serious creative force in Australian Country and Americana music.
Combined with his authenticity as a story teller and genuineness as a person, Ward is ready for country music’s biggest stages with spirited live performances, strong storytelling and damn good songs you can’t get rid of.
