Page Text: Whether you’re fighting fit or fighting to be fit, there’s a place for you on SU QLD’s Team Chappy. Bridge to Brisbane is a fun way to celebrate the great city we live in, while giving back to the local community. Get your friends, children and family on board to help you fundraise for SU QLD and your local school chaplain. Beach Beach events are traditionally held during the Christmas/New Year break along the Queensland coastline. Most events run for 7-10 days, providing families holidaying in the area with entertainment for children and meaningful times for all families to think about the promises of Jesus. Regional and Outback Events for regional towns or outback families are generally run during school holiday periods throughout the year. These events provide a great holiday experience for students, and in some cases for their parents as well. During the school term, usually the last two weeks, teams of volunteers and Christian students travel around regional and outback towns delivering programs during school hours, with follow up activities at lunchtime or after school. Currently these teams are based in Cairns and on the Sunshine Coast, but new teams from other areas are welcome. Urban Urban events or day camps are run throughout Brisbane and major regional centres, providing activities for children and families in suburban settings. These community outreaches are particularly valuable as a means for local churches to partner together to meet the needs of their local communities. Festival Through festival community outreaches, teams of volunteers spend time at popular annual festivals around south-east Queensland – including the popular Woodford Folk Festival – sharing God’s love and hope with festival-goers.
