The very essence of the word favourite, symbolises a preference that one person may have towards something, in order for them to prefer it to other items. It would only be fitting, that I, the savvy socialite, choose a product that connects me to the outside world. Thus, my favourite product would have to of course be my Apple iPhone.
Apple continues to modify and upgrade its current editions of the iPhone to meet with the demand of their large customer base. The iPhone, materialistic to some, serves as more than just a way to communicate with others, but with the ever constant downloading of apps, such as ones where you crush candy or those where you snap your life in 10 second segments; iPhone’s are never far out of reach.
But why, out of all products in this ever-changing world, is the iPhone my favourite? Could it be it’s high definition touch screen, it’s metallic skin or even it’s high quality camera? Yes, those features are awesome, but the real reason I adore my iPhone, is because I can access all my social media accounts in a product that fits in my hand and I can carry around effortlessly.
This savvy socialite is obsessed with social media platforms, and how through these channels, I can connect with those I cannot physically meet with face-to-face (such as my best friend in another state who I communicate with via FaceTime). In my experience, social media channels can provide you with amazing and unforgettable experiences. Like that one time I got to hang backstage at a concert with my favourite band because they noticed an update account my friends and I made for them on Twitter. Below are some key points to why my top three favourite social media apps are awesomesauce.
Twitter
I can connect with celebrities who are out of my league
I send tweets, although I’m not a bird
I have followers, although I haven’t started my own religion
Facebook
Just look at my friend count of 300 people (now divide it by 100 and minus two and that’s how many friends I actually have)
My opinions/statuses gets pity likes from my “friends”
Instagram
Let’s be honest, we all want to see what our friends had for lunch
But in all seriousness, thanks to my iPhone and the apps it provides, I can talk to my friends at all times of the day, meet new people and endure experiences I never thought possible.
