Page Text: — Economics Breaking News The big news is that after 7 years of all the fun of running My Farm Shop, we are shutting up shop after delivery of the 2019 Christmas Hams. Thank you to all the customers who have supported us to help spread the word about regenerative and sustainable production practices. We are very proud of you all and the fact that you choose to use your purchasing power to support farmers that are doing the right thing. You'll still see or hear of us around the world of Regenerative Agriculture, as we're putting our energies into some exciting new projects in that space. About us Danny & Sue Sue Ogilvy and Danny O'Brien are in self imposed exile from the corporate world, having spent over 20 years in the IT game in Melbourne. Having had an epiphany about how unsustainable their lifestyle was (and how unsustainable the conventional food supply chain is), they set out in 2009 to link up with the great people out in the farming world who were on the right track of building a resilient, socially balanced, food system in Australia. Leaving family and friends behind, they moved onto a farm near Canberra where they learnt as much as they could about how to farm sustainably - with their biggest learning being just how hard it is to make a living as a farmer (with the existing food system in Australia forcing farmers to continually trade off environmental health for financial viability). As far as Sue is concerned, she's out to "save the world!". Leveraging her background in Physics and Sales & Marketing, she is focused on the development of knowledge relating to how regenerative farmers can increase both profit AND landscape health through their management practices. She is keenly interested in building a supply chain for food, fuel and fibre that delivers on the three pillars of financial, environmental and social performance. Danny is a little more pragmatic about things - he's gone for a hands-on approach (he's learnt how to slaughter and butcher his own meat, make cheese, and has fallen in love with farming pigs). He's now getting "fat farmer fingers" from the farm work, although still gets to use his IT knowledge to do stuff like building this website. Danny is putting his attention on the operational side of the My Farm Shop business - sourcing the produce, having it processed, and then managing the deliveries. Together, they are driving towards an abundant and generous future for the next generations to come - their nieces and nephews, friends and family, and the broader community.
