Veldt, also spelled Veld, is Afrikaans for a type of wide open landscape in a rural setting. The word’s meaning spoke to us as our vision for the restaurant – combining Brad’s South African heritage and Natalie’s rural upbringing.
Our Restaurant was opened on the 15th of May 2015.
— BRAD MYERS —
Brad migrated to Australia from South Africa when he was 12 and has more than 20 years experience under his chef’s hat, including a stint as a head chef at a fine dining restaurant in Sydney when he was just 23. He is an all-around chef but particularly loves the challenge of creating beautiful desserts. Brad loves to spend time with his kids & play golf when he gets a chance.

Natalie was born and bred in Dubbo, returning to her home town to open Veldt in 2015 after more than 20 years in Sydney working in the commercial property market. After becoming a mum to Olivia and Hugo, Natalie changed her career focus and loves the challenge of being a working Mum.
