Page Text: Department of Health - Australia's COVID-19 vaccine rollout
Notes
For cases, last 24 hours refers to new cases in the 24 hours from 4pm 14 April to 4pm 15 April, 2022. This week includes data for the 7 days ending 4pm 15 April 2022. Last week includes data to the week ending 4pm 08 April 2022. Numbers of cases are based on date of notification to NSW Health.
The map shows the location of residence by Local Government Area (LGA) or Local Health District (LHD) of locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the last four weeks up to 4pm 15 April 2022. It is based on the calculated onset date (earliest of symptom onset, specimen or notification dates). Infections are not always acquired in the place of residence as people often travel outside their area for many reasons (e.g. work, school and shopping). Cases without a NSW residential address and people who were exposed interstate or overseas are not shown. Case counts may vary over time due to ongoing investigations and case review.
The NSW Sewage Surveillance Program samples 22 sites throughout NSW on a weekly basis. These sites were selected for their population size, geographical spread, proximity to state borders and transport routes and for the presence of vulnerable communities. Now that COVID is widespread in the community, the focus of the program has changed from early warning to monitoring of trends to supplement information gathered through PCR and Rapid Antigen Testing.
For vaccinations, past 24 hours refers to vaccine doses administered from 8pm 14 April to 8pm 15 April, 2022. Vaccination rates are as of 11:59pm 14 April 2022. NSW Health's vaccination clinics generally operate Monday to Friday. Therefore, there may be limited vaccines administered on weekend days and public holidays due to planned closures.
