Public Holiday closures
Some COVID-19 testing clinics across NSW are closed or operating at reduced hours over the public holiday period. Please check the clinic status before making the journey to get tested.
Have COVID-19 symptoms?
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, even if mild and you are fully vaccinated, use a rapid antigen test immediately and self-isolate.
Most people don't need a PCR test to confirm their positive rapid antigen test result. More information can be found on getting tested for COVID-19
Symptoms include fever, runny nose, muscle aches and pains, fatigue, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell. Other reported symptoms include, acute blocked nose (congestion), headache, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, unexplained chest pain and conjunctivitis.
Who should have a PCR test?
Information on who should have a PCR test can be found on getting tested for COVID-19 .
Where to get a COVID-19 PCR test
COVID-19 PCR testing clinics are available across NSW for people who need a PCR test. You can get a PCR (nose and throat swab) test at one of the COVID-19 clinics listed.
Information on how to receive your PCR test result, including how to register for SMS, is provided when you get tested.
Translating and interpreting services are available at clinics. Ask the clinic to call 131 450.
Clinic hours are updated regularly. This list displays opening hours for the next 7 days and includes any planned closures or reduced hours during holiday periods. Please check opening hours before attending.
Once you have been tested, you must go straight home and self-isolate until you get your result, unless advised otherwise by NSW Health. Don't stop off along the way.
COVID-19 testing for travelling overseas
Some countries and airlines require a pre-departure PCR (nose and throat swab) test result at check-in before you will be allowed to board your flight. Travellers should check the entry requirements of the country they are travelling to, and their airline's requirements.
COVID-19 testing for international travel clearance purposes (departures) is conducted at private pathology clinics only and charges apply for this service.
If you return a negative test result, you will be issued with a testing clearance certificate which you will need to board your flight or vessel. You may be required to book in advance for this service.
