Page Text: Local food for local people Local Food for Local People Healthy Food for Healthy People our Beginnings The Bathurst Wholefood Cooperative was established in November 2011 by the community. People wanted to be able to purchase local and organic foods more regularly than the monthly farmers’ markets, as well as provide a market for produce generated by the local farming community.  The shop front was opened in Bathurst in January 2012. As a food cooperative the BWC is owned and operated by its members. It is a not-for-profit organisation, with any surplus from operations used to provide better and more affordable products and services. Co-operatives are different. We are owned and operated by our members, we are democratic and we use funds for mutual benefit, instead of individual gain. Become part of an organisation dedicated to supporting local farmers, and bringing organic farm fresh produce to the people of Bathurst. Become a member today.
