Page Text: Contact About Us Murrungundy Pistachios is a small family farm run by Richard and Diana Barton. Located at Elong Elong, between Dubbo and Dunedoo, 1 hour north of Mudgee and 35 minutes from Wellington in the Central West of NSW. Their daughter Lucy is now the fifth generation. Richard and his father Hugh in 1979 propagated rootstock seeds sourced from California USA, and the pistachio wood for grafting from the CSIRO. With a lot of trial and error along the way we now have around 4,000 Pistachio Nut trees. Pistachio Nuts, originally from Afghanistan, are well suited to the central west climate, and under the right conditions, can live and produce for years. Pistachio Nut Trees thrive on extreme weather conditions. With long hot summers to ripen the nuts, this area of Australia has a close climate to the origins of the pistachio nut. While it took 12 years before the 4000 trees delivered up their first harvest of grape-like clusters, the long-term prospects look good. Murrungundy Kernels have found their way into some of Sydney’s top restaurants and we have supplemented our big sellers, Natural, Salted and Salt & Pepper Pistachio Nuts with a range of boutique sidelines, namely our Fig & Pistachio Jam and Red Tomato & Pistachio Relish, watch this spot for new and exciting products. All of our products are Australian grown at the family farm. Our Murrungundy Pistachio products are mouth watering and are will compliment any gift basket or gift list. Not to forget the home gourmet chef, we have Murrungundy Pistachio Kernels, which is a highlight of any recipe. We are expanding our enterprise further with the introduction of doing Farm Tours,  contact us  for more information. Murrungundy Pistachios offer a shopping experience that is deliciously addictive, exciting and offer an ever-expanding variety of affordable products. FREE postage for all orders over $88.00 Lucy and Richard Barton
