Page Text: 5-4-2017 NEW Materials HUD, a short explanation. In the following video I will show you how my new HUD with materials option works. But more important, how to make the best of them! Different windlights have different effects and since my hair is almost always MOD you can tweak materials to your liking. Older hairs (made before april 2017) do not come with the option to change materials on the HUD. Instead there is a second hair included with materials. Those hairs are also almost always MOD so you can tweak the materials as explained in this video. [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KgbQ-zEGSw&w=560&h=315] 1-1-2014 Since 2014 I use materials in the hair I make. Materials will make the hair appear more realistic. I also include hair with no materials because not everyone likes it. How it looks depends on your settings and the windlight you use. I get a lot of questions about the materials and thought it would be a good idea to show you my settings and some examples, so here it goes 🙂 In the picture you see the graphics setting i used. You can use a lower one but be sure to check “advanced lighting model”. Click on the picture for a larger view. In the picture above I used the same preferences, windlight and haircolor. The one on the left is with materials and the other wihout. A few examples with materials: Strawberry Singh made a great video about materials, you can find it here: I have been searching for more information about the materials feature in Secondlife but did not find much more than Strawberry already did. Leave a comment if you think I missed useful tips or links. Bewaren
