Page Text: ART IN PUBLIC PLACES SCULPTURE PROGRAM A world-class exhibition of large-scale outdoor sculptures enlivens downtown Knoxville, the McGhee Tyson Airport, Zoo Knoxville, The Muse Children’s Museum, ORNL Federal Credit Union branches, and Jackson Square. ART IN PUBLIC PLACES MURAL PROGRAM To further advance existing creative efforts in downtown Knoxville, we seek to connect artists with additional resources and opportunities to produce murals in the heart of the city. Artists may apply for funding to cover supplies, equipment, and other needs related to the creation of new artworks. ART KITS FOR KIDS ​ The Art Kits for Kids program provides free art and educational supplies to students in need across East Tennessee. The Kits are distributed through partnerships with nonprofit organizations that serve youth in East Tennessee. CHALK WALK APRIL 3-12, 2021 This virtual, community-wide event encourages artists of all ages to create one-of-a-kind chalk artworks on neighborhood sidewalks, driveways, and community spaces! DOGWOOD ARTS FESTIVAL APRIL 23-25, 2021 This spring celebration features a fine art market, live music, artist demonstrations, and hands-on activities for kids and adults. The Festival is located on bustling Market Square and adjoining Krutch Park set against a canvas of blossoming trees and outdoor sculptures. FIRST FRIDAY: ART WALK EXHIBITIONS On the First Friday of each month, downtown galleries and shops unveil new exhibitions and host open houses to promote the arts in our community. Dogwood Arts hosts a different artist or artist collective in our Gallery located at 123 W. Jackson Avenue. REGIONAL ART EXHIBITION JUNE 2021 Fine art encompassing all styles and genres from both emerging and established regional artists will be showcased at the Emporium Center Gallery. YOUTH ART PROGRAMS SYNERGY, EPIPHONE GUITAR DESIGN CONTEST, A VERY SPECIAL ARTS FESTIVAL Investing in the next generation of artists is more important than ever before. Our youth art exhibitions, contests, and events, encourage our youngest artists to express themselves and get creative.
