It made me start to question a lot of the dogmas I had accepted in my life and made me look forward in time for the first time. I developed a keen interest in futurism, humanism, sociology, and psychology because that series made me ask uncomfortable but ultimately rewarding questions about the nature of consciousness and what really it means to be human. I think my favorite characters are the Tachikoma and their quest toward full sentience. Ultimately it turned me from a confused clueless teen to an adult with more answers than I know what to do with, yet I keep asking questions just for the hell of it because that show gave me the taste for putting myself on the spot with uncomfortable questions about ethic, morality, the deeper nature of the Self, Evolution through cybernetics and so so much more.
