MUSIC STORES AND INSTRUMENT REPAIR SHOPS (and music & instrument lessons, which are offered in some of these stores):
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is now too late for students to get a band instrument for the 2012-2013 school year. Students who did not either buy or rent an instrument by the deadline date have been removed from band class this school year. Some students who are renting instruments from the school or who are not in band this year (but who are planning on trying out for band next year) may wish to shop ahead for their own band instrument to use for the next school year. Be sure to check out the school band instrument sales at The Woodwind and Brasswind . They often have most of our band instruments on sale, brand new, for only $99.99 (trumpet, cornet, trombone, flute, and clarinet) That’s an amazingly low price. See examples of these sales online at http://www.wwbw.com/Back-to-School-2012-g26500t0.wwbw for more information, or call this store at 1 (800) 348-5003. They also have good, low prices on the more expensive instruments, such as the alto saxophone and the percussion kit that comes with both the snare drum and the bells set. Call this store or check out their web site home page at http://www.wwbw.com/ for more information on their current sales and prices.) [Back-to-School season, and Christmas/Holiday season are two of the best times for good sales at all of the music stores.]

However, this store is very close to our school and does sell some good quality instruments and accessories.
Spring Instrument Imports: 25814 Oak Ridge Dr., Spring, TX 77380, (281) 300-3678. [NOTES: This is a good place to shop for inexpensive trumpets, cornets, & trombones (brass instruments) only. This store does sell woodwind instruments, but the woodwind instruments are of low quality. The brass instruments are good quality, though at very low prices. Also, this “store” is located in a house, and does not have its own instrument repair shop.]
Department store band instruments: There are a few other non-music stores, such as department stores that also sell a few of our band instruments (such as the trumpet, flute, and clarinet) at a very low price. Stores like this include: Target, Costco, Toys-R-Us, Walmart, and Sam’s Club. Some of these stores keep band instruments in stock at the store, but some of these stores may have to special order the instruments for you. (If this is the case, be sure to ask how long it will take for the instrument to arrive.)
Percussion Center : 6990 Portwest Drive, #100 Houston, TX 77024, 713-468-9100. NOTE: This store sells percussion kits and percussion accessories only, and does not sell any brass or woodwind instruments. https://www.percussioncenteronline.com/
Online (Internet) music stores: There are some reputable online musical instrument dealers that also sell band instruments, such as: Taylor Music Company , 1(800)872-2263; The Woodwind and The Brasswind , 1(800) 348-5003; Wichita Band Instrument Company , 1(800)835-3006; Cascio Interstate Music , 1(800)462-2263; and Musician’s Friend , 1 (877)880-5907; and Sam Ash Direct , 1(800)472-6274. Even Amazon.com sells some band instruments. Most of these internet-based companies also provide fast, free shipping on band instruments and will ship the instrument directly to you. IMPORTANT NOTE: Students who wish to order an instrument online should be sure to ask how long delivery of the instrument will take, and should then order the instrument immediately so that it can be shipped to you in time. Students who have been accepted into the band program but who still do not have an instrument two weeks after the band acceptance letter goes home will be removed from band class. IMPORTANT NOTE: IT IS NOW TOO LATE (for the 2012-2013 school year) TO ORDER A BAND INSTRUMENT FROM AN INTERNET MUSIC STORE, BECAUSE THE LAST DAY FOR BAND STUDENTS TO GET AN INSTRUMENT IS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2012, and by the time that the instrument arrives, full band instruction will have already started, leaving students without instruments too far behind.
